Jack Daniel's Distillery

Cam and I hit up the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Map Quest gave us some false distances and some confusing directions but we found it without wasting too much time. The entry way dawns a close replica of the legend who is Jack Daniel. I say 'close replica' because this statue portrays the man being 6 inches taller than he really was.

Our tour guide aptly named, "Buddy" walked us around and told us all about making Tennessee Whiskey. The smells were intoxicating (almost). We weren't allowed to photograph inside the buildings, nor were we allowed to have our cell phones on. One spark inside this building and the place would go "BOOSH."

But now that I think about it Buddy had a radio on him... hmmm...

Cam and I were really thinking we'd get a free shot or a sip or something after the tour. You see the county that Lynchburg resides in is a "dry county" so we figured the loophole would be that if they gave it away you could drink it. Buddy alluded to everyone getting a drink after the tour. So at the end of the tour we walked into a bar looking room and got our free drinks...

of LEMONADE!!!

Cam = Mega-bummed

I don't know if my optimism for free alcoholic beverages affected my tastebuds but the lemonade was very, very tasty.
