Franklin, TN

Today we ventured to the historic town of Franklin. The downtown area was neat but there weren't any shops (or should I say 'shoppes') worth going into. We made our way south to Fort Granger. There we had a lovely view of the city.

From the Fort we walked down a dirt path that led to a pair of railroad tracks. A bridge took the tracks over the Harpeth River and back towards the town. The cement columns were painted with a lovely mural. Franklin is such an artsy town.

After we read some of the things painted on the walls we decided that it wasn't a mural after all. Under the bridge was a nice shaded place for all the edgy kids to drink fountain pops, skip stones and occasionally misspell the word "friendly." So Cam and I did just that.

After skipping some stones we walked back up the rocky hill and walked over the bridge. This bridge isn't very accommodating to those with a fear of heights. Good thing neither of us had that fear.

If I've learned anything from Upland, Indiana it's that railroads are privately owned and it's considered trespassing to walk upon tracks. So of course we had a plan just in case the police decided to confront us. The plan: I was to rip off my shirt and temporarily blind the 5-0 with my whiteness therefore making our escape.

It was a flawless plan.
